Bartering for a House

Have been looking for a house for the past month or so & have found one I particularly like. As I enter the negoiation stage of trying to agree a price, it strikes me that buying a house is like bartering in the Marrakech souk. I half expect the estate agent to say "I give you good price" as we talk.

He gives his price......... I offer my lowest price....... he drops a bit...... I go up a bit.........

All the same rules apply too - never look too interested or go up in price too quickly. Take your time etc etc. and hopefully you both end up with a price you are happy with.

Life

Hmmmm my life has been like this of late (well work life anyway). All I seem to do these days is work..... sleep..... work....... sleep. The joys of shift work !!

It's been a busy few weeks......

On the back of my bruises & personal protection training, I've joined a gym to improve my strength & overall fitness - all I've done is aggravated my shin splints :( Think I'll just stick to swimming.

Have been to the beach a couple of times with friends when the sun has been shining, which to be honest hasn't been at all these last couple of weekends..... or weekdays..... Davey brought his stunt kites - here are a few pics of the boys trying them out.

And so onto this weekend - have booked the week off work - am heading this afternoon with about 15 young people to Summer Madness, a Christian youth festival. It should be a laugh although the weather forecast is atrocious - I fear we shall be washed away !! Tents, mud & Jesus - what more could we ask for ?? Am looking forward to hearing Brian McClaren speak, that and the burnt burgers that Neil will no doubt feed us !
